Notification of Judgment - Court of Appeal Sets New Sentencing Guidelines For Manslaughter
The Court of Appeal today issued sentencing guidelines to be followed by the courts in Northern Ireland when dealing with cases of manslaughter where the offender has inflicted deliberate, substantial injury but it has not been possible to prove that he or she intended to kill or cause really serious harm to the victim.
