Practice Note No 2 of 2003

 

 

Lists of Authorities and Skeleton Arguments

 

 

 

1.         Lists of authorities to which parties propose to refer on the hearing of a summons should be lodged in the Masters’ Office at least one clear working day before the date of hearing.

 

 

2.         Except where the authorities consist of standard text book in common use, or if case law, are contained in the Law Reports, the All England Law Reports, the Northern Ireland Law Reports and the Northern Ireland Judgment Bulletin, copies should be provided for the use of the Master at the hearing of the summons.

 

 

3.         Where a party proposes, or has been directed, to submit a skeleton argument, a copy of that argument should be lodged in the Masters’ Office at least one clear working day before the hearing of hearing, unless the Master has directed that it be lodged at an earlier time.

 

 

4.         The requirement of the provision of copy authorities at paragraph 2 applies to authorities referred to in skeleton arguments.
