County Court Bulletin (Provisional Statistics) July – September 2011
Figures published today by the NI Courts and Tribunals Service in the quarterly County Court Bulletin outline the County Court business received and dealt with from the quarter July – September 2011.
During the quarter;
- There were 1,566 civil bills were disposed of during the quarter
- There were 42 equity cases received
- There were 157 ejectment cases received
- There were 3,161 small claims received
- There were 602 sitting days during the quarter

Notes for Editors
During Jul – Sept 2011:
- There were 1,566 civil bills with a notice of intention to defend (NID) received between July - September 2011. This a 19% decrease on the 1,931 NIDs received in July - September 2010. A total of 2,206 civil bills were disposed of during the quarter, of which 901 civil bills were disposed of in court.
- There were 3,161 small claims received and 2,431 disposed of during the period, of which 307 were disposed of in court and 1,547 were default judgments
- In total, 323 decrees nisi were granted during the quarter, with 46% of these giving a reason of ‘2 years with consent’. There were 304 decrees absolute granted in the county court.
- There were 602 sitting days during the quarter, with 57% of time having been spent on criminal business.
