Court Hearing Centres

A consultation paper “Proposals for Court Hearing Centres at Bangor, Larne, Limavady, Magherafelt and Strabane” was published on 12 January 2009. The period of consultation closed on 3 April 2009.

The Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service carefully considered all responses to the Consultation and accordingly the Justice Minister Bridget Prentice MP approved the establishment of Hearing Centres at the existing court venues in Bangor, Larne, Limavady, Magherafelt and Strabane.

You can view the report on the Consultation exercise by clicking this link.

As a result of the implementation of Hearing Centres the Court offices will open as follows:

Limavady

Magistrates' Court sittings every Wednesday (plus specified County Court sitting days).

Magherafelt

Magistrates' Court sittings on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday and on the 1st and 3rd Monday (plus specified County Court sitting days).

Strabane

Magistrates' Court sittings every Thursday and on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Fridays of the month (plus specified County Court sitting days).

Hearing Centres will also open on any other day when Court or Tribunal hearings are listed. Other days when a Hearing Centre will be open will be updated on this page as they become known. Note that customers can view the details of sittings on a given day through our Public Court Lists Online service.
