Customer ServiceCustomer Service            Consulting on our Services

Welcome to the Customer Service section of our website, the Northern Ireland Court Service is committed to providing an efficient, accessible and quality service for all customers by listening and responding to their needs.

This commitment is part of our Customer Service Strategy, this strategy outlines how services will be delivered and how developments in information technology and communications will enable new and better ways of delivering services in the future.

Service Standards

Our service standards were first set out in the Courts' Charter which was adopted in 1992. We have also developed standards for key groups of users to inform them about what they can expect when they use our services. If you require further information on our customer service standards then please click here.

Accreditation and Inspection

The Court Service is committed to external assessment and review to ensure that our services are of a high standard and meet public service quality standards.

During 2004 to 2005 the HMICA (HM Inspectorate of Court Administration) conducted a programme of five linked inspections which focused on aspects of customer service. For further information about the HMICA Inspection Programme and the findings of each inspection then please click here.

Charter Mark and EFQM

We are committed to achieving Charter Mark, as a benchmark in excellence for customer service and continuous improvement, for all our court venues, Court Funds Office, and Information Centre. A number of our court offices have achieved Charter Mark accreditation and all remaining court venues will be applying by March 2006. Please click here to find out more about our Charter Mark success.

The Enforcement of Judgments Office has embarked upon a far-reaching modernisation programme and have carried out a series of improvement projects under the Growth and Change Programme. The Office received recognition for the improvements made when it was presented with a Gold Award in the Northern Ireland Quality Awards Steps to Excellence Scheme 2006.
