Small Claims
The Small Claims Court is a low cost, quick and informal way of settling disputes. It allows anyone to have a claim of up to £2,000 decided by a judge, usually within about three months. All you have to do is complete a one-page form, pay a fee (the amount is set by the size of the claim) and appear for a short time at an informal court hearing.
There are a number of things, which will help you decide if your claim is a "small claim" and can be dealt with by the small claims process. In general a small claim is one where the value of the claim is not more than £2000.00.
Examples of claims you can make are:-
